Privacy Policy
Last updated: 9 October 2026.
Renard Intaglio is a showcase site: there is no shop, no online payment and no account to create. The only thing you can send us is a message, through the contact form. This page sets out exactly what is collected, why, for how long, and what you may require of us.
1. Who is responsible
The data controller is Mr Stéphane Renard, publisher of renardintaglio.com. For any question about your data, write to contact@renardintaglio.com.
2. What is collected
Four cases, and four only:
- The contact form: your name, your email address, your message, and the language and address of the page you are writing from.
- The box “I would like to be informed about new pieces”, if you tick it: your consent, its date, and the exact wording shown to you at that moment.
- Visit statistics for the site, with no cookie: the page viewed and its language, the website you came from (domain name only), the time spent on the page and how far you scroll down it, the type of device (mobile, tablet, computer) and the browser, the country (worked out from your IP address at the time of the visit; the address itself is not kept), the opening of pieces in the gallery, moving from one photo to the next and the time spent on each, clicks on the email address, the phone number or an external website (domain name only), and the progress of the contact form (displayed, started, sent), never its content.
- Google Analytics audience measurement, optional, if and only if you accept it in the cookie banner: the data collected by Google Analytics (pages viewed, time spent, device type, truncated IP address).
The site collects no banking data whatsoever, since no payment can be made on it.
3. Why, and on what legal basis
- To reply to you — basis: the legitimate interest in answering a request you have sent us.
- To tell you about new pieces and the opening of the shop — basis: your consent, given by ticking the box. Without that box ticked, your address is used only to reply to you.
- To count visits with our own tool, with no cookie — basis: our legitimate interest in knowing which pages are viewed in order to improve the site. You may object at any time (see section 6).
- To measure visits to the site with Google Analytics — basis: your consent, given in the cookie banner.
4. For how long
- Messages received through the form: 3 years after receipt, then deleted automatically.
- Consent to hear about new pieces: until you withdraw it.
- Record of your cookie choice: 3 years, with nothing that could identify you.
- The cookie choice itself: 6 months, after which you are asked again.
- Visit statistics for the site: the detail for 25 months; it is then summarised into anonymous daily totals (number of visits, pages viewed, etc.), which no longer make it possible to tell one visit from another and are kept indefinitely.
- Google Analytics audience measurement data: 14 months.
5. Who has access
- Stéphane Renard, the sole recipient of your messages.
- OVHcloud, which hosts the site. The servers are in France: your messages do not leave the European Union.
- Google, only if you have accepted audience measurement. That data is transferred to the United States under the European Commission’s “EU-US Data Privacy Framework” adequacy decision; should that decision cease to apply, the transfer would rest on the Commission’s standard contractual clauses. Refusing audience measurement is enough to ensure that no data goes to Google at all.
Your data is never sold, exchanged, or passed to third parties for advertising purposes.
6. Cookies
- ri_langue — remembers the language you are reading — 1 year — necessary for the site to work, exempt from consent.
- ri_consentement — remembers your cookie choice, so you are not asked again on every page — 6 months — exempt from consent.
- _ga and _ga_* — Google Analytics audience measurement — 13 months — set only if you accept them.
Visit statistics. They use no cookie. A random identifier is kept in your browser’s memory during the visit only, to link the pages of one visit; it disappears when you close the tab. The country is determined using the IP Geolocation by DB-IP database, looked up on our own server: your address is not passed on to anyone. The site respects your browser’s “Do Not Track” signal, and you can opt out of being counted by ticking the box below.
No third-party tracker is loaded before you agree: until you accept, no request goes to Google. You may change your mind at any time through the “Manage cookies” link at the bottom of every page.
7. Your rights
You have the following rights over your data:
- Access: to know what we hold about you and obtain a copy of it.
- Rectification: to have inaccurate information corrected.
- Erasure: to ask for your data to be deleted.
- Restriction: to ask that your data be kept but not used.
- Portability: to receive your data in a machine-readable format.
- Objection: to object to processing based on legitimate interest.
- Withdrawal of consent: at any time, and as easily as you gave it.
To exercise them, write to contact@renardintaglio.com. You will receive a reply within one month.
If that reply does not satisfy you, you may lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority: CNIL, 3 place de Fontenoy, TSA 80715, 75334 Paris Cedex 07, France, or at www.cnil.fr. If you live in another EU country, you may also complain to your own national authority.
8. Security
The site is served over HTTPS, hosted in France, and calls on no third-party service to display itself: the fonts are served by the site itself, and no resource is loaded from an outside server. Access to received messages is restricted to the authenticated site administrator.
9. Changes to this page
This policy will be updated whenever the processing described here changes — in particular on the day an online shop opens, since new data would then be involved. The date of the last update appears at the top of this page.
